The Ever-powerful 'Jafar' in all his Wicked Glory...
There's something about watching a Disney movie on any day in any mood. Timeless Magic... I've always loved scenes when thunder roars in a Disney animation, its such a visual delight! The lights and shadows. Jafar has always been my favorite Villain and this was the perfect opportunity to share my version of him.
The artwork is a vector drawing and Photoshop was used for shading, painting flames, smoke and for overall effects.
Calligraphic 'S Curves' from Arabic Calligraphy and Persian paintings were used by the original animators as reference throughout scenes from Aladdin, so i wanted to try and introduce the same onto my take on Jafar, his costume, the backgrounds and the whirlwind of wind and fire elements surrounding him in this scene. I wanted it to look intriguing and stay true to his wicked nature.

This is pretty friggen badass! As much that the colors fit him AMAZINGLY I like the whirlwind one best, the darkness he's in makes him so much more villainous

Looks amazing, seems like alotta heart and soul was poured into this design. The colour combination used reminds me of Aladdin series and also the how the actual 8bit game would look today in High Definition on the PS3 :)
