Agreed. This design suspiciously darted to the top while designs like Muppetational Mosaic fell below it. That makes no sense other than this design's owner cheated. There is no artistic talent or effort put into this design. Get rid of this cheater and let real artists like Muppetational Mosaic be the winner since we all know he's the one that "really" won.

Considering it's an easily done picture, I seriously question how it's fighting the Muppet Mosaic, of ALL the shirt design entries out there. Even aside from the Mosaic, there's plenty of other designs that top this. I could understand if it was losing to Mellow & Profitable or Gonzo With The Wind, but this is kinda weird and suspicious. Something's seriously wrong, and if this guy wins I'm not gonna be on Threadless.

Hold yer horses. Isn't it up to the Threadless judges to determine contest winners? I don't see why popularity would dictate a winner, especially when many of the popular shirt designs have vaguely anything to do with the friendship theme.

From the guy's description of his own shirt, it sounds like he wouldn't know a Muppet if he was hit in the head by Camilla the chicken. (Psst. That's a Muppet.) This is the first time I was ever interested in a Threadless challenge, and I'm disappointed, especially if complaints about gaming the system are true.

I agree with the "less is more" concept - this is my favorite design of all, and my opinion counts as much or as little as anyone else's. I don't understand all the negativity and poor sport attitudes in these comments. Just because you prefer a different design doesn't mean this person is cheating. Should I go post negative comments on the designs that "you" like but I don't? (I don't care how "you" answer that - I'm not going to do it.) I'm suprised at some of the most popular designs - I wouldn't buy them, but that's no reason to bad mouth them, so leave this person alone if you have nothing nice or constructive to say.

The incredible meteoric rise of this shirt's score right at the end and how aggressively it held onto that lead made the tally suspicious. It's anyone's guess how that very odd occurrence came to be. There is a possibility that the rise was legit.

NO WAY this got hundreds more total votes than the rest of the entries! Shenanigans and cheating on a Muppet contest are very un-Henson-like! This is childrens' refrigerator art at best. I won't be buying it.

I agree randipoo77. I like this simple design. Jim Henson said "Simple is good."

I am constantly shocked by how mean and nasty Internet Muppet fans can be. Jim Henson would not approve.

All of the Muppet performers are much more nice, polite, cool-headed, and down-to-earth than most Internet Muppet fans will ever be.

I do like the graphical simplicity of it. However I do think that possibly people are being nasty as their instinct serves them well. This design had over 2000 votes where as most of the other designs received around half that amount. I would not wish to jump to conclusions and make accusations of cheating (although I am not ruling it out), it could however be that the designer is exceptionally good at self promotion. I think a similar thing happened with the Bestee award a while back.
Anyway all that said the people at threadless are not stupid and can study the data in much better detail then ourselves so you would think foul play would not go unnoticed. Also in challenges it is not always the most popular that wins.

I'd never heard of threadless until i saw this shirt on facebook, i thought it was awesome and I voted for it.... i'm guessing tons of people did the same, i don't think it's illegal to for poncho to promote himself elsewhere, this is after all the internet, open communications for all and whatnot.... Sure maybe it's not the best design but more often than not it's not the best candidate who wins it's the one who knew best how to play the game. It's the sore losers that make these kind of victories bittersweet, and accusing someone of cheating on no grounds is as bad as cheating itself.

Congrats to the winner. I don't understand how the Mosaic didn't win, but I guess I come from a different school of thought when it comes to the Muppets.

@Muppetfan85 Jim Henson may have said "Simple is good", but he also said "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye".

This shirt getting double the amount of votes that almost everybody else got isn't the art of promotion. Everybody promoted their designs. This shirt is not as good as many others. How did Threadless let this un Muppet like sportsmanship pass? The brown in this rainbow now makes perfect sense!!!

The enthusiasm over the contest and the volume of much greater entries has Threadless considering MULTIPLE winners. That's great!

Even as a designer who submitted something to this contest, i must admit that i enjoy the simplicity of this artist's work and that it does deserve recognition. I only hope it comes on the heels of his/her merit and that any win achieved happened honestly and fairly. I am sure the threadless judges will take everything into account when they make their decisions; let's just all give the artist the benefit of the doubt and hope for an outcome that recognizes the best designs.

To everyone who is complaining about this and says he cheated, the final decision WAS MADE BY A JURY, you can take the Phineas and Ferb design contest for example, the winner was on place 8 in votes, it wasnt good.. at all.. or even slightly good.. but he won. Now please compare that design with this and you´ll see this is amazing.
