Pictures of Christchurch show thousands of bricks littering the streets. Bricks are both a symbol of destruction, and of construction. This design is about how a new city will be built out of the old one, and is inspired by William Trethewey's war memorial statue which still stands in the Square, metres from the Cathedral.
