One of my favorite quotes about food is from the show 'King of the Hill', when the Hill's start shopping at an organic market:

"If THIS is food what have we been eating?!"

I couldn't agree more.

I love that King of the Hill quote too Lacers, but this idea seems too valley girls and their texting to me. Better than the silly cartoon fruits though.

Love it, especially for getting the message across to the younger generation who is into texting and abbreviations. Very good.

I am not a person to use the F word but somehow in this context it's use seems very appropriate.

@Marygrace, I totally understand. I don't use the F word either, I actually debated with my husband whether or not to post this on my FB page :)

Personally, I'm not a fan of using the Lords name in vein either. He's the one who created the organic food that is being promoted. (I'm sure others would have a different viewpoint, but that's just my opinion)

@natlcouncil, I whole-heartedly agree. I always use the term "gosh" Its more of a play on words with the texting culture we now have. The fact that gmo and omg have the same characters it just seemed to work, there was not disrespect intended.

I think it should say "Are You Eating?" because I don't eat GMOs!

Perhaps your design and message could be just as persuasive, if not more, if u remove the WTF. It works from a visual standpoint, just know that a good portion of ur audience may tune out or never wear this with WTF on there. GMO.OMG communicates. "What r we eating?!?" in the small type could be the clean version of "WTF r we eating?".

I suggest keeping the latter in small type, either way.

I agree with Natlcouncile and marygrace that this is offensive, and i wouldn't want it to represent the organic and healthy lifestyle movement

  (staypuft80)

staypuft80 on Aug. 29, 2011, 12:27 a.m.

maruman598: how exactly should the "healthy lifestyle movement" be represented? white-wall, machine-cut robots? lighten up! it's a clever idea and is only offensive if you say the WORDS. it's catchy, edgy, and original. lacers, keep up the good work!

  (mrorie85)

mrorie85 on Aug. 29, 2011, 1:19 a.m.

nice work. WTF is wrong with 'WTF'?

  (maruman598)

maruman598 on Aug. 29, 2011, 9:32 a.m.

staypuff, that is the most relative thing I have heard in a long time, its only offensive if you say the words, WHAT?! Well if they have no meaning then what is the point of the design?

  (staypuft80)

staypuft80 on Aug. 29, 2011, 11:35 a.m.

part of the reason why more people aren't aware of the whole GMO issue is because it's not relevant to them... that's the whole point of a competition like this. when more people know what 'WTF' stands for than 'GMO', there's a problem. lacers is bringing what is otherwise a dry topic into a culturally relevant, humorous (albeit a little irreverant) setting. can't you see the difference between using a relevant pop-culture "texting" reference, and blatant cursing?
