I was thinking of making a design for this contest and I had the same idea of the phoenix, but then I saw this design, and somehow i felt like I was heard! This design truly is beautiful and there is no better way for it to be expressed than this way! Kudos and thanks for making such beautiful art for this cause! Beautiful. Symbolic. Powerful. Since the net proceeds from sales go to the Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Red Cross fund, it would be well worth $15-$20. I'd want my donation to be worthwhile for this disaster.

I love how you created a beautiful design but also thought it through giving symbols, hope, and a promise to rise again. i totally agree that having a shirt that would also be timeless is great.

OK! This is the one I want! It captures both the devastation and the hope so well. I love how the phoenix seems to be embracing the sun (Japan) as it flies up toward it.
