I like this idea and all, except for maybe the clip art type man. But my question is that who came up with this design first? For this is certainly not the first image i've seen similar to this one. I.e. specifically "painting" the Rising Sun.

I really like this except for the weird blurriness around the guy. He should be crisp. But I love the way the paint is executed.

@JLBradford, the man is crisp. Threadless' image compression makes him look blurry. Just look at his legs against the creme color, they're crisp. For some reason though, when an image is compressed, red or anything against a red is the color that generally gets blurry.

I wish I could do better at more simple, classic, well designed work. I have a hard time filling the page with sometimes, unnecessary elements. Rob, you really did a great job and I'm proud to score a 5 on it.

@ red comments:
Yes...ive seen this on other sites as well....for some reason red blurs > ive tried everything....even web safe reds...could not get past this problem.

I think there's nothing wrong with an artist using a trademark of their own creation or a recurring theme across their art. It's quite common and looking at his other work, I think this piece is original, heartfelt and nicely done. Good luck robdobi!
